Mission and Objectives
The TAP initiative is aimed at making Canada one of the world’s five most innovative within the next five years, despite the more difficult economic context. The goal is for innovation and entrepreneurship to energize all sectors and have a positive impact on job creation, greater productivity, solid growth and increased prosperity.
Objectives
The decisions in technology adoption will be the most important and urgent ones Canada has to take as a country. National prosperity and international competitiveness depends of technology advancement inside Canadian enterprises. Innovation and entrepreneurship could stimulate and accelerate what we are looking for as an innovation-intensive country: job creation, productivity gains, greater growth and great wealth. This is a call for mobilization to the Canadian business leaders to promote an innovative culture, to raise consciousness of the challenges and to propose action that will place Canada in the forefront. The Technology Advancement for Prosperity (TAP) is the answer to theses challenges.
TAP initiative proposes guidelines to allow companies to situate where they stand in terms of innovation capabilities. There is more than technology adoption involved in this issue; it is also about new working practices, management and sharing information. TAP proposal is to put Canada in the top five of innovation-intensive countries in the world within five years.
